Assassin is an independent group of French hip-hop. It was formed in 1985 by Rockin' Squat and Solo, quickly joined by DJ Clyde then Doctor L . Since 2000, tours have been performed with Rockin' Squat, Profecy, Lyricson and DJ Duke.The group claims to fight the media and political system through music. He often references the roots of rap by reminding his audience of the foundations of hip-hop culture: they reject all kinds of bigotry and call for respect, love, unity, combativeness and education.Assassin has three gold records for the albums The Future What Does It Hold for Us?, Homicide voluntary and Touch of hope with more than 100,000 albums sold for each of them.

Anecdote

‍Assassin also produced the music for the first film of  Mathieu Kassovitz,Métis[/i ], that of Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche, Wesh wesh, what's going on? , as well as that of Jean-François Richet and Patrick Dell'Isola State places. The title The island of the unconscious also appears on the soundtrack of the film My 6-T will crack-er. As well as the State assassinates in the album La Haine, music inspired by the film by Mathieu Kassovitz

Mathias Cassel, Founder of Assassin

Founder ofthe legendary group Assassin in the mid-1980s, Mathias Cassel left his mark onhip-hop with his militant and independent lyrics. He adopted the name RCKNSQTaround 2020 for his solo project, notably the album “432”.
